The Abram Group is currently in search of a Medical Planner to join their nationally ranked Architecture Design client at their office in Atlanta, GA.

They specialize in a multitude of project-types including Healthcare, Education, Community Planning, Parks, Recreation, Urban and much more.
Senior Medical Planner
A well-established design and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Medical Planner to join its healthcare team. This role involves leading planning and design efforts for a variety of healthcare projects, including inpatient facilities, diagnostic and treatment departments, and support services. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in medical architecture and a collaborative spirit to help deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and contribute to all phases of the healthcare design process, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
· Provide strategic planning and design expertise across a range of healthcare environments, with a focus on functional and operational efficiency.
· Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop programming documents, master plans, and design concepts.
· Facilitate client workshops and stakeholder engagement to define project objectives and translate them into actionable design strategies.
· Produce architectural programs and departmental layouts that reflect client needs and regulatory requirements.
· Guide teams through concept development, schematic design, and design development phases.
· Support construction documentation with QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes and guidelines, including FGI and life safety standards.
· Conduct evaluations of existing facilities and lead data collection efforts through interviews, surveys, and post-occupancy evaluations.
· Participate in marketing efforts, including proposal development and client presentations.
· Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
· Coordinate with consultants and project partners to ensure cohesive project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Professional degree in Architecture or a related field.
·10–15+ years of experience in healthcare design and planning.
· Architectural licensure preferred.
· Strong proficiency in Revit, BIM360, and other visualization tools (SketchUp, Rhino, etc.).
· Familiarity with healthcare codes and guidelines, including FGI and life safety requirements.
· LEED GA certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
· ACHA accreditation preferred, especially for candidates based in Florida.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
